Location: Poole

Salary: £12.82 - £14.72 Per Hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are seeking a committed Learning Mentor to join a supportive and inclusive school in Poole. This is a fantastic opportunity to empower students, providing the guidance and encouragement they need to overcome challenges and succeed. You will work closely with students requiring academic, emotional, or behavioural support, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities of the Learning Mentor:

  • Offer personalised mentoring, both one-on-one and in small groups, to support students’ learning and development.
  • Foster confidence, motivation, and a positive attitude towards education.
  • Assist in promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a supportive school environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to track and enhance student progress.
  • Encourage resilience, independence, and the development of essential life skills in students.

Requirements of the Learning Mentor:

  • Previous experience working with young people in an educational or mentoring role (preferred).
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach to support student development.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Right to work in the UK..
