Our client is looking for an ambitious individual to work as a Legal Assistant to support two Partners across Employment, Commercial and Property sectors at their office in the Poole area. You will be typing and completing reports and other documents with a high degree of accuracy and care, dealing with clients, answering calls, as well as other duties such as opening and closing files etc.
You will work as a Legal Assistant with the following duties:
- You will be expected to use your initiative and have a high level of attention to detail.
- Opening and closing files as instructed and assisting with searches as required
- Assisting with billing
- Updating records on their in-house system
- You will pride yourself in your spelling, sentence structure, punctuation and word usage.
- You will learn and progress on the job and will have the ability to retain information and develop
- in the role.
- You will be expected to work at pace to fulfil the workload of the Partners. While you will have a good typing speed of at least 50 words per minute, you will not be expected to have previously done audio typing. This is easily learnt if you have a good typing speed and excellent eye for detail.
You will be based on front of house reception and will offer excellent first impressions to clients:
- Answering calls from clients along with other colleagues
- Meeting and greeting visitors, including clients, liaising with the postman and suppliers.
- Catering for visitors - making tea and coffee, seating them in meeting room, directing them towards toilets and washing up cups afterwards and making sure the meeting room is tidy and presentable for the next client, filing and other admin duties etc.
About you:
- You will have graduated with a Law Degree/working towards a legal qualification
- Have excellent IT skills
- Be looking to have the opportunity to secure a training contract in time
The successful candidate would have ambitions to qualify as a Solicitor in due course, an ambition they would encourage and assist with by offering a Training Contract after a reasonable time period.
