Senior Inventory / Supply Chain Analyst

Job Location:Poole, Dorset

Job Type:Permanent

Salary:Up to £40,000 DOE + free onsite parking

Hours:39 hours per week, Monday Thursday 8am 5pm & Friday 8am - 4pm + free parking

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Inventory / Supply Chain Analyst to work with a leading company who design, manufacture and supply products to both the B2C & B2B market.

This well-known business supplies not only the general public but major retail chains such as; Dunelm, Laura Ashley and John Lewis. You will act as the primary point of contact for all stock related enquiries from these customers.

This position would suit an individual who possesses excellent communication skills along with analytical, forecasting and reporting skills, ability to crunch and analyse numbers, analysing high volumes of data to determine trends, patterns, stock data and product demand.

You will also help support 2 Inventory Analysts in the absence of the Inventory Manager when they are off-site.

Some of your duties will include:

Having full ownership of product lifecycle from launch, promotions, and stock exit.

Acting as the first point of contact for customers including resolution of stock issues.

Planning and scheduling product availability and optimising stock holding, working with Far East suppliers / UK customers to maintain the business's KPI targets

Preparing forecasts to incorporate seasonality with a monthly review of all SKUs to ensure that the correct orders are placed & prioritised

Using forecasting management tools / web portals and Excel to forecast order

Assisting with report generation, data analysis and forecasting

Liaising with suppliers regarding order requirements

Administration duties including ensuring portals and databases are kept up to date with performance and progress

Supporting 2 Inventory Analysts on occasions where the Inventory Manager is off site.

We would like our ideal candidates to possess:

At least 3 years experience in a supply chain / inventory position

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, exporting data and changing tables)
  • The ability to analyse data, produce forecasts and generate accurate reports to establish patterns
  • Ability to analyse and work with numbers
  • Strong written communication and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • A methodical approach to problem solving and making decisions
  • Strong computer skills
