Production Engineer

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Production Engineer to join their dynamic team. The role requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in continuous improvement processes, defect identification, root cause analysis, and a keen eye for designing new cutting tools. The successful candidate will also have a deep understanding of CNC machines and experience working with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities as Production Engineer
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure continuous improvement in processes and production
  • Improve process and procedure through LEAN initiatives
  • Demonstrate your experience in CNC machines, including 5-axis turn-mill, sliding head turn-mill, and 5-axis milling
  • Design fixtures and jigs using 3D CAD and manage production
  • Conduct PFMEAs on all designs and root cause analysis to ensure suitability for manufacture
  • Collect and utilise production data using ERP/MRP systems
  • Mentor and provide guidance and support to other production engineers and multi-skilledteams across the business
  • Be able to effectively engage with customers during quotations, pre-production, and manufacturing to understand and meet their needs
Qualifications as Production Engineer
  • Ideally a mechanical engineering qualification or similar relevant qualification
  • Previous experience in machining or assembly of parts manufacturing
  • Proven expertise in continuous improvement, defect identification, and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in designing new cutting tools and working with CNC machines
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems for recording and managing production data
