Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with experience managing product lifecycle from cradle to grave.
This permanent position is based in Poole and offers a competitive salary dependent on experience.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have a strong background in using Solidworks or similar CAD tools.
Key responsibilities include developing high-quality mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with international standards, and producing detailed design documentation.
Candidates should have experience working to Military, Defence, and CE standard qualifications, along with a well-versed background in a similar role.

Product lifecycle development – from capture of requirements through to final design review and certification
Ensure new products / technology is designed in accordance with international & local standards and regulations
Responsible for reviewing detailed mechanical analysis of designs for feasibility of build, tolerancing, materials and environmental suitability
To produce detailed and accurate Bills of Material, 3D CAD models, detailed design drawings and associated assembly and installation drawings to support the lifecycle development
Act as the mechanical design authority for designated products owning all aspects of CE compliance and produce the necessary documentation to support CE marking activities, where applicable.

Senior Mechanical Design EngineerEssential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher within Mechanical Engineering

Demonstrable experience of using Solidworks or similar CAD and analysis tools along with Product Data Management systems is essential
Design for manufacture and production
A well versed time served background in a similar role
Experience of working to Military, Defence and CE standard qualifications
