Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance department. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant, equipment, buildings, and facilities. The successful candidate will be hands-on, maintaining and improving all aspects of the operational site through planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance.

• Fault finding within the machine shop environment and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems as needed.
• Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checks on machines and equipment in line with the CMMS schedule.
• Maintaining a high standard of site facilities and the overall site environment/appearance.
• Highlighting opportunities for continuous improvement regarding plant and equipment reliability.
• Working safely and tidily in accordance with company policy.
• Performing other duties as reasonably required, commensurate with the nature and level of the post.

• A formal, recognised apprenticeship related to the trade endorsed by EITB, EMTA, AMA documentation or equivalent experience.
• Fully skilled with either mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical bias.
• Practical experience in fault finding within a machine shop environment.
• Demonstrable understanding and application of safe working practices.
• Positive, pro-active, can-do attitude and ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Committed to working to deadlines and determined to see a job through to a satisfactory conclusion.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
• PC literate.

• Ability to fault find from electrical/mechanical drawings or PLC systems.
• Training & experience in basic electrical skills.
• Knowledge of modern maintenance philosophy (TPM / PPM / RCM).
• Academic qualifications such as BTEC National (ONC / OND), BTEC Higher National (HNC or HND) or equivalent.
