Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Band 8a Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team within the Radiology and Pharmacy Directorate at Poole Hospital, part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a senior role supporting high-level clinical pharmacy services, ideally delivered on-site at Poole or Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Remote working may be considered for exceptional candidates following a local induction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advanced-level clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and/or specialist areas

  • Provide expert advice on medicines management and clinical governance

  • Lead on audits, service development and implementation of pharmacy initiatives

  • Act as a mentor and clinical support to junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and safety

Requirements:

  • GPhC-registered Pharmacist

  • Significant NHS hospital clinical experience (essential)

  • Proven ability to work autonomously in a senior capacity

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Familiarity with NHS systems, protocols, and formularies

Additional Notes:

  • Remote working may be supported after successful completion of local induction

  • Must be able to commit to on-site work at Poole or Royal Bournemouth if required
