Role Summary
My design client has an inhouse commercial photography studio, they looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, to join the team as 'Assistant Photo Editor’, with an eye for detail and a desire to work in a fast-paced creative environment.
Working within the design department, you will be responsible for editing high-quality product images produced in their on-site photographic studio, for own brand and customer websites, printed catalogues and packaging.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Working closely with the Studio Manager and Photo Editor to ensure high quality image editing / re-touching deadlines are met.
• Work on multiple projects, at a fast pace, dealing with a high volume of images.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency and quality of content across all platforms.
• Use clipping paths, masking tools, colour correction and AI tools to manipulate imagery in-line with photo briefs.
• Responsible for sending images to clipping agency, ensuring all images are checked and returned with the correct paths.
• Responsible for organising and uploading images to the company database and maintaining accurate data on file at all times.
• Batch processing of images, re-sizing large quantities for web in-line with brand guidelines.
• Simple clipping path creation where needed.
• Manage your own workload to meet daily business requirements and deadlines.
• Follow editing techniques and industry best practices.
• To support the business with other tasks, such as creating visual presentations for customer meetings.
What You’ll Need
• BTEC qualification in Graphic Design or a Foundation Diploma in Art, Design & Media or A level equivalent.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, with a solid understanding of image editing tools.
• An impeccable eye for detail spotting defects in images.
• Experience clipping images and saving paths correctly.
• Great organisational skills and capable of handling of large numbers of files.
• Knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator preferable but not essential.
• Able to produce consistent photo retouching tasks on multiple images of matching products,
ensuring uniform quality across different angles and lighting conditions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am - 4:00pm Friday
