Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 per annum DOE

Our client is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead their UK Compliance team and oversee all aspects of product, factory, environmental, customer, and business compliance. This role offers the opportunity to shape the compliance strategy and ensure industry standards are consistently met and exceeded.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage the UK compliance team, ensuring all product testing compliance obligations are met, and proactively manage the China-based auditing team to achieve factory, environmental, and customer compliance.
  • Proactively communicate new legislative requirements to stakeholders and guide the compliance team in implementing necessary process and procedure changes.
  • Represent the business at customer and supplier technical and product regulatory meetings. Engage with the LIA to influence standards development and disseminate relevant updates internally.
  • Ensure all products meet legislative, customer, and internal regulations and requirements. Maintain internal systems, policies, and technical files. Complete customer-specific compliance questionnaires and data submissions.
  • Set and control departmental budgets, monitor output, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee annual ISO 9001 & 14001 audits, ensuring process improvements are implemented. Conduct regular meetings with the China-based auditing team to review progress, manage schedules, provide training, and develop continuous improvement strategies at core factory sites.
  • Conduct regular update sessions with internal teams, providing technical support and product enhancement ideas.
  • Manage factory auditing to ensure compliance with external customer ethical, social, technical, and environmental requirements.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in compliance management within product testing.
  • Experience managing a compliance team.
  • Experience liaising with international factories to ensure compliance.
  • Proficiency in Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in communicating with external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills.
