Governance and Compliance Manager

Salary to c £42,000

Location Poole

We are searching for an experience Governance and Compliance Manager for an impressive Educational organisation, to implement the Governance and compliance strategy an d maintain high q uality governance across the organisation. You will manage a team of Governance Officers and will be responsible for successfully embedding the Governance framework to ensure the organisation remains compliant. Full or part-time candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Leading continous improvement of governance through policy development aligned with organisational values

  • Managing a policy review schedule to ensure timely approvals

  • Supporting the drafting, formatting and reviewing of documentation for submission to Board Committees

  • Advising on governance and compliance best practices, including legal matters for the Board and Local Authority

  • Managing a team that supports local governance

  • Development of statutory policies including safeguarding

  • Website updates

  • Assisting in meeting planning, minute taking and action tracking

  • Ensuring accurate governance records, including the register of business interests

  • Leading recruitment and succession planning for relevant staff

  • Supporting compliance audits and assisting in wider meetings as required

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Educational governance procedures, law and regulations

  • Experienced in managing a team

  • Proven experience working in Education and Governance

  • Degree Level educated ideally
