Governance and Compliance Officer

Salary to c£31,000

Location Poole

We are searching for a Governance and Compliance Officer for an impressive Educational organisation. You will need a keen eye for detail, great time management and expertise in communication. If you work within Education and thrive on working dynamically, offering advise and guidance to multiple stakeholders this could potentially be an interesting opportunity. Full or part-time candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with Execs and Local Authority to prepare clear, effective agendas for meetings
  • Distributing agenda and relevant documents before meetings within the required deadlines
  • Clerking meetings, taking accurate minutes, noting decisions and actions, and circulating them within set timeframes
  • Following up with the Chair and Principal on the progress of agreed actions
  • Advising the governing body on governance legislation and procedural matters
  • Supporting meetings both remotely and in person, traveling to schools as needed
  • Assisting with panel meetings (e.g. suspensions, exclusions, complaints, and appeals) in consultation with the Specialism Lead.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in support administration within education (or potentially Local Authority education team)
  • Knowledge of educational governance procedures, law, and regulations would be ideal
  • Experience of coordinating complex reports and presentations
  • Experience of organising and taking minutes at high level meetings
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Degree Level educated ideally
