Managing Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has become available to join this well-established contractor who specialise in Highways Infrastructure & maintenance projects. This position is perfect for an already established Managing QS, or a Senior QS looking for the next exciting step in their career.

This position will cover long-term project contracts across Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch. The company operate hybrid and flexible working and you will have use of an office located in Poole, usually required to be in the office or visiting project sites two days per week.

To be successful in this position you will have a strong background in infrastructure projects to ensure you can hit the ground running with the on-going project work, and ideally some experience working on Highways related projects. The successful candidate will meet the below requirements and be passionate about the standards of work they deliver, enjoying not only meeting but also exceeding clients expectations. 

Requirements:

  • 6+ years’ commercial experience as a Quantity surveyor, previous as either MQS or Senior QS level.
  • Prior experience working on infrastructure projects in the UK for a main contractor.
  • Preferably you will have some form of degree or educational background in Quantity Surveying, but we are open to considering alternative career pathways.
  • Preferably prior experience of delivering highways infrastructure projects as that’s what we specialise in.
  • Strong Knowledge of NEC, specifically NEC3/4.
  •  Confident in handling contract management, all QS duties as well as a full range of reporting responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain budget control, produce valuations, communicate clearly within the business and build strong working relationships.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Located commutable to Poole, hybrid working is applicable to this position.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship (not on offer with this position).
