Prospero Teaching is seeking a caring and committed Classroom Welfare Assistant to join our team. This role focuses on supporting the well-being and academic progress of students by fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
As a Classroom Welfare Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to ensure that every student feels supported, enabling them to reach their full potential. You will also play a key role in addressing any barriers to learning and promoting positive behaviour.
Position Details:
- Location: Poole
- Position: Classroom Welfare Assistant
- Hours: 09:00am - 15:30pm
- Full time/Part time: Full time only
- Minimum Rate of Pay: £85.10 per day, depending on experience
- Start date: ASAP/ January 2025 start
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Supporting the emotional and physical well-being of students in the classroom.
- Assisting teachers in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
- Addressing welfare concerns by liaising with staff, parents/guardians, and external professionals.
Experience, Training & Qualifications:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable
- Up to date safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional references
