Independence Assistant TA

Prospero Teaching are working with a specialist school in Poole, looking for Independence Assistants. As an Independence Assistant, you will be working as a teaching assistant supporting professionals across the curriculum and school, working directly with pupils to support their learning, providing 1:1 support and interventions. Location Details: Location Poole, Dorset Position Independence Assistant Contract or position start date ASAP Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) Temporary Permanent Full time/part time Full time Minimum rate of pay GBP80 per day Hours 8:30am - 3:30pm (4:30 on a Tuesday for staff meeting) What your role will include: Work closely alongside the class teachers to implement support strategies within the classroom, creating resources as required and requested. Plan, prepare and deliver activities to advance pupil's learning as necessary within agreed systems of supervision. Contribute to high quality learning experiences using a variety of delivery and support methods. Support the class teacher, and work individually, to assess, record and report on baseline assessments, development and progress. Promote pupil's personal development and independence. What we need from you: Experience with diverse age groups Understanding of SEND: A thorough understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Positive Behaviour Support: Ability to support and promote positive behaviour in pupils.
