We are seeking a tenacious and experienced Purchasing Manager to work with our impressive engineering and manufacturing client in Poole. You will offer strategic direction to the operational and strategic purchasing teams. Responsibilities as Purchasing Manager
- Development and implementation of purchasing strategies to improve cost, quality, and service
- Leadership of purchasing team, including training, development, and performance management
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve optimal outcomes for the business
- Utilise lean principles and continuous improvement focus to optimise procurement processes
- Support Supplier Quality Management and strengthen negotiation power
- Conduct make versus buy analysis and implement standard supply chain systems
- Create and manage budgets, with a focus on stock replenishment strategy, demand forecasting, and risk management
- Implement a global sourcing policy and manage the procurement life cycle
- Utilise MRP and ERP systems to optimise operational planning
Qualifications and Experience as Purchasing Manager
- CIPS or APICS qualification preferred
- Experience in team management and performance management
- Proficiency in stock profiling, demand forecasting, and supply chain risk management
- Knowledge of standard supply chain systems and ability to read engineering drawings
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Experience in manufacturing and engineering environment
- A proactive approach in all you do
