What You'll Be Doing:
You will be responsible for operating the ESAB profile burning machine to meet departmental productivity, schedule, and quality requirements. The role requires precision, strict adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, and operate the ESAB equipment to ensure optimal performance and high output quality.
- Perform and record pre-use operational, condition, and calibration checks on the equipment at the required intervals (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly) to ensure safe and effective operation.
- Perform cutting tasks on various metal types and thicknesses by following technical drawings, information, and specifications to meet industry standards and company quality requirements.
- Work in accordance with work priorities set by the line manager.
- Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment, including using personal protective equipment and ensuring equipment is in safe working condition.
- Complete routine maintenance tasks on ESAB equipment as required, ensuring optimal functionality and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the equipment to minimise downtime.
- Be flexible and willing to work outside regular core hours when requested, with compensation provided in line with company policy.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Trade qualification in Burning or Fabrication.
- Experience with hand burning and using gas cutting equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, information, and specifications.
- Material handling experience, including using handling equipment for plates, profiles, and parts.
- Experience with trade hand tools.
