This role involves the operation of the ESAB profile burning machine in accordance with company standards and specifications to meet productivity, schedule, and quality requirements. Precision, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are key components of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, and operate the ESAB equipment, ensuring optimal performance and output quality.
- Complete, record, and report pre-use operational, conditional, and calibration checks at the required periodicity.
- Perform cutting tasks on various metal types and thicknesses, following drawings, technical information, and specifications.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, using personal protective equipment as required.
- Complete routine maintenance tasks on the ESAB equipment to ensure optimal functionality and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time, materials used, and job specifications.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety incidents, or quality issues to the line manager.

- Willingness to work outside regular core hours when required.
Required Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
- Plater or Burner Trade qualification
- Experience in hand burning using gas cutting equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, technical information, and specifications.
- Experience in material handling, including the use of handling equipment for plate, profiles, and parts.
- Proficient in the use of trade hand tools.
Salary/pay rate:
£17.07/h PAYE - First 37 hours Mon - Thurs (£32,842 Basic Salary)
£23.90/h PAYE - After 37 hours
