This is an onsite, permanent position where you will leverage your mechanical engineering experience to lead and supervise a multiskilled team, ensuring all activities are completed on time and to a high standard.
The role is suited to candidates with shipbuilding experience and previous supervisory experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installing main machinery on new build vessels
- Reading and understanding technical drawings
- Setting up and aligning shafts, thrusters, rudders, gearboxes, pumps and commissioning mechanical equipment
- Maximising labour utilisation by setting work for the team to meet delivery schedules
- Providing technical advice to the team and identifying process improvements
- Updating all relevant documents including daily progress registers, log books, accident books, training, performance records, and attendance logs
Job Requirements:
- Educated to HNC level in a related subject
- Supervisory experience in an industrial environment
- IT skills, especially MS Office
