Reed has partner with a leading manufacturer in the Swansea area. We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our clients finance team and contribute to their sustained growth by supporting core customers.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare routine monthly journals and perform balance sheet allocations and reconciliations.
  • Ensure nominal accounts are well-kept and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Improve accuracy and develop financial master data and item data.
  • Perform checks and balances for raw material consumption and participate in stocktakes.
  • Enhance the accuracy and depth of Bill of Materials.
  • Control and reconcile fixed assets and investment projects.
  • Prepare and analyse information requests from senior management.
  • Assist the wider finance team during busy periods, such as year-end.
  • Conduct ad-hoc reconciliations and analysis.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Recognised accounting qualification such as AAT (desired).
  • Proven experience in a finance role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with IT systems master data and cost accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of analysing and presenting financial information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hardworking, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Demonstrates integrity, dedication, and ambition in approach to work.
