gap personnel have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer based in the Port Talbot area.

About you:

This position is tailored for professionals with a background in Mechanical Engineering Design. A solid grasp of component design and design for manufacturing is essential.

In return for your expertise, the company offers a starting salary of £30,000 per year, with the potential for negotiation depending on experience.

Monday - Friday (Day Shift)

The ideal candidate would be able to contribute to the following:

  • Interpret client specifications and create 3D models and drawings for approval.
  • Develop detailed product drawings for production.
  • Source and procure necessary materials.
  • Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure design integrity.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with external structural engineers.
  • Utilise parametric modelling to streamline and enhance the design process.
  • Participate in research, development, and new product initiatives.
  • Continuously innovate and improve the existing product line.
  • A background in civil engineering is a valuable asset.

Successful candidates will be a pro-active team worker, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff. Operate within the confines of company policy and procedure requirements, including integrity and confidentiality in respect of the business. Abide by health and safety legislation in respect of yourself and others.
