Reed is working closely with a global leader in providing critical sealing and connector solutions to the energy sector. They are seeking an experienced Sales Estimator with a strong focus on the estimating aspects of customer service. This role is crucial for creating bespoke, high-value quotations and requires a candidate with robust experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly within the engineering sector.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop bespoke quotations for high-value projects, ensuring all client specifications and requirements are meticulously met.
  • Provide pre-sales technical expertise to a diverse range of global clients, ensuring their requirements are fully understood and met.
  • Collaborate closely with the global business development team to recommend products and services that meet precise customer requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's products and services as well as those of competitors.
  • Manage customer meetings effectively, including taking and issuing minutes to capture and communicate all requirements.
  • Handle bid clarifications through to completion, ensuring all issues are resolved before the finalisation of bids.
  • Manage discussions around Terms and Conditions with the legal representative, ensuring all legal aspects are addressed and communicated.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience specifically in creating detailed, high-value quotations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to meet targets and deadlines, with a capacity to work well under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a knack for working with figures and calculations.
  • Proactive and uses own initiative to complete tasks.
  • Confidence in reading and understanding technical drawings.
  • Experience in training associates and using SAP would be advantageous.
