Location: Port TalbotContract Type: Permanent, Full-TimePay: £17.50 - £18.50 DOE, Overtime + Bonus SchemeHours: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30Pertemps are looking to recruit an experienced field service engineer for a client who is a market leading brand in their field for an immediate start on a permanent basis.The Role:
  • Service, repair, and maintain plant equipment to the manufacturer's specifications, ensuring reliability and safety.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and other technical faults.
  • Use advanced diagnostic software (training provided).
  • Identify and report machine defects, upselling services.
  • Accurately complete detailed reports, risk assessments, and timesheets using our in-house tablet system.
  • Collaborate closely with the service department and management team.
  • Operate machinery on-site for testing purposes (training provided).
  • Accurately ordering parts with the parts department
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary to fulfil the role
The right candidate:
  • Relevant experience and qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ Level 3 qualifications or equivalent to
  • Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Strong IT skills and experience with electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • A relationship builder who can deliver excellent customer service.
  • Effective communication and time-management skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
