World leading industrial gases and engineering companyurgently require an Electrical Technician to join the existing team at their Margam site. Reporting to the Electrical Foreman you will be responsible for providing an effective electrical maintenance programme supporting all aspects of production on site

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering across a broad range of activities ranging from planning and carrying out both routine and non-routine maintenance of plant and equipment to company standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the management of an effective electrical maintenance programme supporting all aspects of production on-site & off site, to ensure continuous reliable and efficient operation under the supervision of the electrical foreman.
  • In addition, you will prepare plant for maintenance and inspection as required by executing LV/HV electrical isolations (all sites), Responsible for testing and reinstating equipment once maintenance is completed
  • Assist the electrical foreman in managing the SAP Plant Maintenance systems (Electrical work centre only) to measured KPI targets. Ensuring all mandatory work is properly scheduled, planned for and carried out on time
  • Assist with all electrical maintenance planning activities (in conjunction with Reliability Engineering Platform where appropriate) to optimise use of in-house and outsource resources
  • Resolve plant problems by rectifying defects, and identifying opportunities that will enhance plant reliability
  • You will ensure all plant, machinery and equipment is operated and maintained efficiently to meet safety standards and procedures. Ensure records are kept complaint with ISO 9001:2000 requirements
  • Participate in local site preventative measures and subsequent action in dealing with emergencies and abnormal conditions at the main Margam site and at the satellites as required
  • You will inspect and checking of operating plant, machinery and electrical equipment as required. Diagnose faults on plant and machinery and provide feedback / raise SAP notifications and work orders for rectification. Manage and monitor the site electrical CBM programmes

Requirements

  • You will hold a recognised Apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent/higher qualification in an electrical discipline
  • Have experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in an industrial setting
  • Experience of working in an Air Seperation Unit environment would be an advantage
  • You possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and rectify electrical faults and malfunctions
  • Are able to work independently, as well as part of a team, and have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a flexible approach to work, with the ability to work on-call and outside of normal working hours when required with appropriate remuneration
  • Knowledge of pressure systems, compressors, and related equipment is ideal
  • An understanding of the relevant Health and Safety legislation and regulations
  • Knowledge of operating chemical and process plant equipment an advantage
  • Knowledge of Permit to Work
