Brook Street are working with a highly reputable law firm based in Port Talbot, Bridgend and Maesteg. We are looking to appoint a qualified legal cashier to work at any branch. The role is Monday to Friday, 9 - 5 and offers Hybrid working once fully settled in. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the same role at a different firm.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate financial records in line with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.
- Processing transactions, including client and office money payments, bank transfers, and cheques.
- Preparing and issuing client bills and following up on overdue payments.
- Monitoring and managing client account balances to ensure compliance with SRA rules.
- Checking and processing property completion packs.
- Reconciling bank statements and addressing discrepancies.
- Supporting solicitors and administrative staff with financial queries and assisting with audits.
- Producing weekly and monthly financial reports.
- Managing petty cash transactions.
- Assisting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc financial tasks as required.
Requirements
- Essential: Experience working as a Legal Cashier.
- Essential: Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite.
