You will need to have passion for this sector and eager to learn to use manual lathes., milling and drilling machines.
You will also need to have
- some exposure to this type of work whether that be in work or in education.
- experience in a manufacturing environment
- a keen interest in learning a wide range of machining methods
- great attention to detail
- experience in reading and understanding technical drawings
Your role will involve:
- machining parts from drawings
- using gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
- recognising and using fixtures and tooling
- learning how to and then performing tool wear offsets
- regularly cleaning and light maintenance on machinery
- complying with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
