gap personnel has an exceptional opportunity for a Mechanical fitter to join a leading company in Port Talbot.

As a Mechanical Fitter, your primary focus will be fitting components and mechanisms onto bespoke products. We're looking for individuals with the following qualifications and attributes:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, supported by formal qualifications in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, coupled with excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Willingness to work full-time hours, with overtime opportunities at enhanced rates.
  • A team-oriented mindset, self-motivation, excellent organisation, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fit components onto fabricated products using hand and power tools, ensuring top-notch precision and quality.
  • Prepare finished items for shipment by securely packing them for dispatch.
  • Apply mechanical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve assembly-related challenges.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly workspace to uphold safety and efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve processes and communication.
  • Evaluate production workflows to identify and implement improvements.
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines to foster a secure work environment.
