Job Title: Materials Administrator Location: Port talbot Salary: £26,000-£30,000 per annum depending on experience (24 days plus bank holidays (3-5 days are reserved for the Christmas period) Holidays will increase by one day every 5 years)
Hours: Mon - Thursday 7.30 - 17.30 (30min unpaid lunch)Here at The Recruitment Co, we are currently recruiting a Materials Administrator to work for a company based in Port Talbot on a full time contract.Main job roles:
- The Materials Documentation Engineer aims to ensure that the product or service an organization provides is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
- CERTIFICATION: To control the analysis & logging of all certification supplied for materials ensuring that they comply with customer requirements; MDS, QDP and the purchase order for the material.
- To liaise with supplier on incorrectly supplied or incomplete and poor clarity of documentation. (It is the Expeditors role to expedite the order to completion - i.e. correct component & certificate. It is the Materials Documentation Engineer's responsibility to ensure that the certificate is correct and to identify and communicate certificate errors. N.B. For rejected certificates , the Expeditor shall be the point of contact (IAW I2I Reject Procedure). Both however are responsible for ensuring the amended certificate is returned within a reasonable time period
- The control and compilation of Customer Certification Packs. Adopting a "cradle to grave" ownership of Certification including Material, PED, paint Reports & NDT documentation
- Manage & control the certification records system relating to both the company computer system & hard copies.
- To raise & issue NCRs on Suppliers regarding repeat certification errors.
- To Analyse pertinent NCRs for trends and work with the Commercial Team & Suppliers to eradicate the issues
- Liaising with Suppliers for timely resolution of any issue. This also includes internal departments, improving processes that affect quality issues in certification and Certification Pack construction.
- Ensuring compliance with national & international standards and legislation including ISO 9001 & PED/23/EC.
- Adherence to all company H&S & Fire regulations in the performance of allocated duties.
Required Experience
- Good analytical skills, oral and written communication.
- Computer literate
- Demonstrated experience of dealing with Suppliers & Customers.
- Sound working knowledge of Access based systems and Microsoft Office environment.
- Desirable - A minimum of five years within a manufacturing environment.
- Admin experience required working with Certificates
