We have an amazing opportunity to join a longstanding client's team in their new location in Port Talbot as a Materials Documentation Engineer. The hours of work will be Monday to Wednesday, 7.30am-5.30pm, Thursday, 7.30am to 5pm and a non working day on Friday. There is an opportunity for Company Bonus if in profit and the holidays start from 24 per annum.

The main requirement of this role will be to ensure that material and test certifications comply with Company, legislative and Customer requirements and also to consolidate the relevant documentation into customer packs.

You will also be tasked with a year by year reduction of Customer Certification Complaints. A key KPI of this role will also be to collaborate with the Inspection and Stores Team to ensure that the number of inspection items remains below 50 at all times.

You will report to the Quality manager but also work alongside other team members, suppliers, supply chain and production.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation
  • Follow all company Health & Safety and Fire regulations while carrying out assigned duties.
  • Generate and maintain Material Data Sheets
  • Attend internal meetings as needed or requested, and communicate any concerns to the Departmental Manager.
  • Support the development of the system and process procedures, and introduce improvements where applicable.
  • The responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned as required, which will be discussed with the Departmental Manager.

You will have:

  • At least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of Access-based systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proven experience in a Quality Assurance role, with a solid understanding of numeracy.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Degree level Metallurgy or similar.
