Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy Team in Glamorgan. This full-time locum role involves conducting comprehensive assessments for complex equipment and adaptations in clients' homes, with a strong emphasis on manual handling assessments. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that care packages are tailored to meet individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed assessments of clients' needs in their home environments, focusing on complex equipment and adaptations.
  • Perform manual handling assessments and develop clear, actionable plans for care staff to follow.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and other professionals to ensure person-centered care approaches are implemented.
  • Evaluate and determine the appropriate level of care required (single or double handed) based on individual circumstances and needs.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment and adaptations to enhance clients' independence and quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, plans, and outcomes in line with service standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and case reviews, contributing to service development and improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated with best practices and legislation relevant to occupational therapy and manual handling.

Qualifications:

  • Recognized degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Significant experience in completing assessments for complex equipment and manual handling.
  • Strong understanding of person-centered care principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and work independently.
