We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join our team based in Porthmadog, Gwynedd.
Role Responsibility
Reporting to the Head of Future Generations, the Environmental Advisor will cover North Wales, including Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Gwynedd, and Anglesey. You will work on infrastructure, rail, and utilities projects across North Wales, engaging in a variety of projects with significant environmental considerations.
Key Responsibilities:
·Providing guidance for obtaining legal compliance consents, permits, licenses, and waste exemptions.
·Supporting project teams in developing Materials Management Plans (MMPs) and Site Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
·Monitoring and reporting on environmental and sustainability strategies and objectives.
·Liaising with enforcing authorities and professional groups within the region.
·Supporting the Future Generations Manager in implementing strategies to improve sustainability and environmental performance.
·Investigating environmental non-conformances and audit findings, and supporting corrective actions.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Environmental Advisor with:
·Experience in large civil engineering, building infrastructure projects, or the construction industry.
·Knowledge of statutory environmental legislation and regulations, and industry best practices.
·Familiarity with environmental and sustainability management systems, such as ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 20400, BS 8001.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·A full UK driving license.
