Begin a Career in Engineering

If successful, you will carry out a 4 year modern engineering apprenticeship within the Production controls manufacturing shops. You will also pursue qualifications at a local college, and then you will integrate into, and rotate through our team of experienced technicians and test engineers for an immersive three years of hands-on training through both Electrical and mechanical controls cells.

As a Manufacturing Apprentice, you will be:

  • Carrying out a modern apprenticeship attending a local college and then completing hands on and controls training at our Controls Centre of excellence in Nailsea.

  • Learning to perform Assembly, Wire, Test & Inspections of BH Hydromechanical & Electrical / Electronic products, in accordance with technical drawings

  • Displaying competence working across both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines - support provided to those with a bias towards one and willing to cross train

  • Following all established manufacturing procedures and processes to ensure Quality through consistent, reliable, repeatable work processing.

  • Working from engineering drawings, following formal procedures, ensuring quality end product for our customers.

  • Learning to fault find erroneous product down to module / sub-assembly level and to create test software, download and use firmware, and Industrial software packages
