Our client, a prominent name in the marine sector, is seeking a Trainee Finisher to join their team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the marine industry and willing to learn and enhance their skills in composites finishing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the finishing of composite materials used in marine construction
- Performing detailed surface preparation, including sanding and grinding
- Applying protective coatings and finishes to ensure durability and aesthetic quality
- Working alongside experienced labourers and ground workers to complete tasks efficiently
- Helping with the maintenance and organisation of workspaces and equipment
- Following safety protocols and company standards to ensure a safe working environment
- Supporting the painting and decorating team with various finishing tasks
- Learning and developing new skills relevant to composite finishing in the marine industry
Job Requirements:
- Experience or a keen interest in composites, particularly within a marine context
- Understanding of basic finishing techniques such as sanding, painting, and decorating
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced colleagues
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Awareness of safety procedures and the importance of maintaining a safe work environment

Monday - Friday 7am - 15.15pm
£11.87 PAYE starting pate rate increaseing to £12.77 after 12 weeks
