Step into a pivotal role as a Management Accountant with a leading manufacturing company in Portsmouth, a Tier 1 supplier to iconic brands. With a collaborative culture, no rigid hierarchy, and a supportive senior leadership team, this is your chance to contribute meaningfully to a company that values your input and fosters professional growth.Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:
  • The timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts
  • Preparing and completing monthly sales returns
  • Critical analysis of variances between budgeted, prior year and actual figures
  • Maintaining and reconciling the fixed-asset register, including depreciation postings
  • Managing accruals and prepayments
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet nominals
  • Weekly bank reconciliations against the finance tracker, ensuring accurate project tracking
  • Preparation and reconciliation of VAT returns
  • Assisting with year-end preparations
  • Business partnering to provide financial insights across departments
What you will need:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Management Accountant / Senior Management Accountant / Assistant Management Accountant / Commercial Accountant / Accountant
  • Qualified in ACCA / CIMA / ACA or qualified by experience
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Proficiency in Xero and intermediate Excel skills
