- Support the Senior Accountant in delivering high-quality financial management and professional advice
- Assist in providing financial services key stakeholders
- Contribute to financial analysis and support across a range of financial and contractual matters
- Interpret legislation, financial regulations, and codes of practice to ensure compliance
- Support the monitoring and reporting of grants to regulatory bodies
- Assist in identifying cost-saving and efficiency opportunities across service areas
- Contribute to monthly financial monitoring and forecasting
- Help drive the annual budget process
- Support the preparation of year-end final accounts and statutory financial statements
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships
- Clear and confident communicator at all levels, including senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage workload under pressure
- Experience in local government finance, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Competent in financial appraisal techniques and maintaining financial models
- Advanced Excel and IT proficiency, including Oracle Fusion and MS Office
