Your new company

You will be working for a manufacturing organisation in Portsmouth in need of an Accounts Assistant on a 9-month FTC to cover a period of absence. They operate within the manufacturing and distribution industry and due to growth/restructuring, are seeking to add a finance professional to their small team.

Your new role

  • Update financial spreadsheets daily with transactions.
  • Record accounts payable and receivable.
  • Track and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare detailed balance sheets
  • Assist with monthly payroll while keeping organised records.
  • Create comprehensive cost analysis reports, including fixed and variable costs.
  • Offer financial/administrative support during budget preparations.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure all financial documentation meets regulatory standards.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Right-to-work in the UK with experience working in a UK finance function
  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain relationships with different organisational divisions, and with key stakeholders
  • Advanced MS Excel Skills
