Your new company
You will be working for a manufacturing organisation in Portsmouth in need of an Accounts Assistant on a 9-month FTC to cover a period of absence. They operate within the manufacturing and distribution industry and due to growth/restructuring, are seeking to add a finance professional to their small team.
Your new role
- Update financial spreadsheets daily with transactions.
- Record accounts payable and receivable.
- Track and reconcile bank statements to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare detailed balance sheets
- Assist with monthly payroll while keeping organised records.
- Create comprehensive cost analysis reports, including fixed and variable costs.
- Offer financial/administrative support during budget preparations.
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits to maintain compliance.
- Ensure all financial documentation meets regulatory standards.
What you'll need to succeed
- Right-to-work in the UK with experience working in a UK finance function
- Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
- Organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain relationships with different organisational divisions, and with key stakeholders
- Advanced MS Excel Skills
What you'll get in return
- You will earn a salary of £26,500 - £32,000 per annum, pension, private healthcare, 25 days Annual Leave + BH's and discretionary bonus scheme
