Butler Rose is delighted to be partnering with a well-established maritime company involved in sales of luxury leisure watercraft. With the business growing at a good rate across both the UK and Spain, we're looking for an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join the team.

You'll be working with a friendly and hardworking team and will be involved in a broad range of finance tasks. Working alongside the Finance Manager and other team members, you will assist in analysing financial records to look for errors and discrepancies. Together you will help develop and improve an efficient workflow process.

THE KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE ARE:

  • Day-to day bookkeeping including bank and credit card (multiple currency) reconciliations, customer / supplier statement reconciliations, payroll journals and posting accounting adjustments/journals.
  • Knowledge in handling monthly intercompany reconciliation with subsidiary companies, head office and other associate companies.
  • Capable in assisting with the finalisation of the quarterly VAT returns and other monthly and yearend reporting.
  • Processing of domestic and EC sales invoices and completing Intrastat statements were required.
  • Liaise with HMRC, clients, banks, and suppliers.
  • Other general administration as required.

ASSITING WITH:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and related reporting and analysis.
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Assist with producing robust budgets and forecasts.
  • Creating bespoke financial reports for both the Finance Manager and Managing Director

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working towards AAT, or have demonstrable qualification by experience.
  • Knowledge of SAGE (preferred but not essential), Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
