About the role
You will join our Modems and Software Defined Radio group and report to the Engineering Manager of the project, delivering a new product to the UK MOD.

As the project is for UK MOD, you must be eligible for a UK Security Clearance.

The role will be based in Portsmouth, UK. The role has a flexible working pattern and you will be required to be in office 60% of your time.

You will be an experienced PCB Design Engineer with knowledge of designing mixed RF and digital circuits.

In particular, your skills will include:
Mandatory Skills:

• Update of existing and generation of new schematic design and circuit board layout design for both digital and RF circuit boards in Mentor Graphics.
• Applicants should have a broad range of experience with mixed-signal electronics design (RF/analogue up to 2 GHz and digital up to 3 Gbps)
• Design of circuits to meet harsh environmental and EMC standards
• Testing and diagnosis of the resulting circuit boards in the final installation

Beneficial Skills:
• Experience in designing to meet CE/UKCA, DO-160 and Mil-Std 810 environmental standards
• A background knowledge in the use of system test hardware, for both RF and baseband diagnosis
• A background knowledge/interest of satellite communication systems/industry or Modem technology

• HND or Bachelor of Engineering and typically 5+ years of professional experience
• Experience of using high level modelling languages (e.g. SysML, UML)
• Familiarity of using agile methodologies in delivery is desirable
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
