Quality Engineer - Amazing Opportunity in Portsmouth!

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer ready to take on your next challenge? TeamJobs is currently recruiting for a proactive and hands-on Quality professional to join a dynamic team within a leading manufacturing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives and play a key role in product and process quality.



Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Quality Manager and support site-wide quality efforts

  • Attend daily production Tiered Accountability meetings and take ownership of quality concerns

  • Actively participate in RPS and RCCA processes

  • Identify and implement Continuous Improvement opportunities

  • Drive scrap reduction initiatives in line with COPQ goals

  • Use Six Sigma tools and methodology to identify defect trends and reduce process variation

  • Conduct 8D investigations for customer complaints and provide clear, urgent resolutions

  • Lead yield improvement projects using RPS methodology

  • Perform internal audits as per site schedule and participate in 3rd party audits

  • Host external auditors when required

  • Carry out other quality-related duties as assigned



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience

  • Proven background in a Quality Engineering or similar role

  • Strong knowledge of quality tools, concepts, and methodologies

  • Experience with Six Sigma, RPS, RCCA, and 8D processes

  • Confident in leading investigations and driving improvements across departments

  • Creative problem-solver with a high degree of initiative and autonomy



Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday, from 8.00am to 4.45pm

Friday, from 8.00am to 12 noon
