Senior Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
- Design and implementation of large marine electrical installations
- Work with vessel manufacturers to provide installation guidance and vessel specific system variants
- Work with ATEX rated installations to ensure compliance and safety in hazardous environments
- Utilize professional drawing package EPlan
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate electrical systems into cutting-edge marine technology solutions
- Provide guidance and support throughout the project life cycle, from initial concept to final implementation, ensuring technical excellence throughout
Senior Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s degree preferred
- Experience of marine or industrial control electrical installations, demonstrating a competence with electrical installations and panel design
- Understanding of the complexities and challenges in the marine sector is hugely beneficial
- Experience in ATEX/IEC-Ex rated installations is desired
- Proficiency with professional drawing package EPlan is desired. Training can be provided if required
- Knowledge of marine industry, powertrain electrification is an advantage
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
Any background of working in the marine sector is useful. Even if it's where you started your career before moving on, having an appreciation of how the industry works will very much help in this role. Located on the South Coast, this role would be commutable from this role would be commutable from Portsmouth, Fareham, Port Solent, Portsmouth & Southampton.
