Adept:us is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a Portsmouth based client who are at the forefront of engineering innovation within the marine industry. With a focus on sustainable and advanced solutions, it is committed to transforming the sector by introducing ground breaking products designed to enhance efficiency and push technological boundaries.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement large-scale marine electrical installations, with a focus on our clients innovative product.
  • Collaborate with vessel manufacturers to provide installation guidance and tailor system variants to specific vessel needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards in hazardous environments, including ATEX-rated installations.
  • Utilize professional drawing packages for electrical design.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate electrical systems into advanced marine technology solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept through to final implementation, ensuring technical excellence at every stage.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in marine, motorsport, automotive or industrial electrical installations, with expertise in electrical systems and panel design.
  • Strong understanding of the unique challenges and complexities within the marine sector.
  • Experience with ATEX / IEC Ex-rated installations is a plus.
  • Proficiency with the EPLAN electrical drawing package is preferred, though training will be provided if necessary.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain complex technical concepts to diverse teams.
