A well-known FMCG company in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced Finance Administrator to join their busy Finance team. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of financial administration for two companies, one based in the UK and the other in the EU. The position focuses heavily on accounts payable and purchase ledger maintenance and is office-based with no remote or hybrid options due to the nature of the work.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage the accounts payable function, ensuring timely processing of invoices and credits in multiple currencies.
  • Conduct payment runs and reconcile vendor accounts and company credit cards.
  • Handle processing of expenses, commissions, and pensions.
  • Assist with basic payroll administration checks (e.g., checking overtime) to support the Manager.
  • Post bank payments and maintain accurate financial records, filing, and other documentation.
  • Identify and recommend improvements for administrative procedures and implement changes as appropriate.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as required to assist the Finance team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in finance administration, particularly in accounts payable and purchase ledger.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on speed and accuracy.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Professional and courteous telephone manner.
  • A proactive ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to use initiative.
  • Capability to work well under pressure.
