We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier for an exciting permanent opportunity with a leading law firm based in Portsmouth.

The firm are happy to consider someone working either a minimum of 3 days per week plus holiday cover or full-time hours.

You will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Inputting and processing client and office bank transactions
  • Reconciling and maintaining client and office ledgers
  • Reconciling client and office bank accounts
  • Monitoring bank accounts and notify colleagues when funds are received
  • Check and input invoices on accounting software both for clients and suppliers
  • Setting up bank payments (both for client and office)
  • Dealing with residual client balances/payment to charity
  • Managing and reconciling petty cash
  • Month end preparation
  • Liaising with accountants as and when required (for submission of VAT return preparation or year end procedures)
  • Reporting suspected account breaches

Skills and Qualifications required:

  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of SRA and AML rules.
