A highly successful automotive business is seeking a General Manager to join the team in the greater Portsmouth area.Your RoleWhile in this role your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business
  • Making the maximisation of profit a priority
  • Overseeing the staff, supporting the human resources department
  • Communicating with customers via both the phone and in person, ensuring the maximum customer care is provided throughout
  • Providing reception with updates and changes in workshop capacity
  • Keeping the communications log on the management system up to date
  • Supporting senior management, such as the Finance Director, as required, as well as supporting with looking at potential investments and conducting due diligence
  • Enforcing quality standards
  • Establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders, partners and clients
  • Overseeing the running of the workshop, the VDA team, the parts department and the reception desk, providing support in all areas as needed
You MUST HavePlease apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria:
  • Previous Bodyshop management experience
  • Excellent leadership abilities, as well as strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Good working knowledge of accounts, budgets and fundamentals, as well as the estimating process and systems
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • A commercial mindset - able to identify areas for cost savings and produce forecasting
  • A full clean driving license
