HGV Class 1 Drivers Wanted In HILSEA!

Logistics People are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers/HGV Drivers/LGV Class 1 Drivers/LGV Drivers/Class 1 Drivers working on a Full time Equivalent (FTE) basis at our Fowler Welch Hilsea depot.

Our customer is one of the biggest names within the HGV industry, with the latest vehicles on the market, which means you get the best HGV experience and a top range vehicle to work with.

***12 Months Of HGV Class 1 Driving Experience Required***

Location: Hilsea PO3 5FJ   

Working Hours:

  • 5 On 3 Off Shifts Available - Various Start Times Available 
  • 4 On 4 Off Shifts Available - Various Start Times Available 

Pay Rate:

  • £12.87 - £21.98 P/hr - Shift and time dependant 

About this role:

  • Refrigerated work – You will be transporting goods that need to be kept in a chilled trailer, at a specific temperature. Full training will be provided when operating a chilled vehicle.
  • Trunking – You will be driving on a regular route, including long haul transportation of goods between distribution hubs.
  • Store Delivery –Transporting various type of goods from location to stores.
  • General haulage – Transporting various types of goods from location to location.
  • Manual handling This involves physically lifting, carrying, and moving goods as needed during loading and unloading operations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs to ensure roadworthiness
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, logbooks, and other necessary paperwork in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to health and safety regulations.

About You:

  • You should hold a valid HGV 1/C+E Licence and have a minimum of 12 months HGV Class 1 driving experience. 
  • No more than 6 points no DD/ DR Code convictions
  • Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards
  • Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation
  • Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
  • Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
