Description of Role:

The Site Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials, components, and services to support production and operational activities within F.P.T. Industries Ltd. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery requirements, aligning with the companys aerospace manufacturing standards and regulations.


Key Responsibilities of the Role:

Supplier Management:
  • Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve the best value while ensuring compliance with aerospace industry regulations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Procurement Process:
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials and components to support production schedules.
  • Issue purchase orders and manage order confirmations, delivery schedules, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to identify procurement needs.
Cost Control & Budgeting:
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and lead times.
  • Assist in developing and managing procurement budgets.
  • Support make-or-buy analysis to optimize manufacturing and outsourcing decisions.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure all purchases comply with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and reports, including supplier certifications and audits.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required procurement documentation.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including potential shortages, geopolitical risks, and quality concerns.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Implement lean procurement strategies and process improvements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments to enhance procurement efficiency.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within aerospace or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of technical drawings and specifications is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Desirable Experience and Skills:
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement processes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Adaptability to changing supply chain demands and production requirements.
  • CIPS.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience.)

Working Hours:

07:30 - 16:15: Monday-Thursday

07:30 - 16:00: Fridays

(Every other Friday is a non-working day)
