Description of Role:
The Site Buyer is responsible for the procurement of materials, components, and services to support production and operational activities within F.P.T. Industries Ltd. The role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery requirements, aligning with the companys aerospace manufacturing standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Supplier Management:
- Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve the best value while ensuring compliance with aerospace industry regulations.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure timely procurement of materials and components to support production schedules.
- Issue purchase orders and manage order confirmations, delivery schedules, and invoice discrepancies.
- Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to identify procurement needs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and lead times.
- Assist in developing and managing procurement budgets.
- Support make-or-buy analysis to optimize manufacturing and outsourcing decisions.
- Ensure all purchases comply with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reports, including supplier certifications and audits.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required procurement documentation.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including potential shortages, geopolitical risks, and quality concerns.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure continuity of supply.
- Implement lean procurement strategies and process improvements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within aerospace or manufacturing industries.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of technical drawings and specifications is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
- Adaptability to changing supply chain demands and production requirements.
- CIPS.
- Bachelors degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience.)

Working Hours:
07:30 - 16:15: Monday-Thursday
07:30 - 16:00: Fridays
(Every other Friday is a non-working day)
