Streamline Search is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established freight and logistics company with over 30 years of industry experience. Specialising in multimodal freight solutions, including air, sea, road, and rail, our client operates their own trucks, warehouses, and is part of two pallet networks. They are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth by targeting manufacturers and local businesses across Hampshire and surrounding areas.

Business Development Manager - Responsibilities

  • Actively generate and secure new business opportunities in air, sea, and road freight services by targeting manufacturers and local businesses.
  • Work predominantly on the road three days a week (Monday-Wednesday) to meet prospective clients, with Thursdays in the office and Fridays for meetings with the Managing Director.
  • Source and develop your own business leads, while collaborating with Sales and Operations colleagues for additional opportunities.
  • Promote the company's full suite of logistics services, including customs paperwork, airway bills, and comprehensive warehousing solutions, emphasising their in-house capabilities.
  • Focus on developing long-term client relationships and identifying ongoing opportunities for multimodal freight services.
  • Provide tailored freight solutions and pricing to meet client needs, leveraging expertise in FCL, LCL, OOG, RORO, and customs compliance.

Business Development Manager - Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in selling air, sea, and road freight services, ideally with manufacturers and local businesses.
  • Proven track record in securing new business and developing strong client relationships.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the freight forwarding industry and multimodal transport operations.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to close sales and maintain client satisfaction.
  • Dynamic, self-motivated, and results-oriented personality, with the ability to work independently and meet targets.
  • Ability to manage time effectively between fieldwork and office responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Business Development Manager - Remuneration

  • Salary: £50,000 - £80,000, dependent on experience and revenue generation potential.
  • Performance-based bonus scheme with review after 3 months and probation period of 6 months.
  • Opportunity to earn above salary expectations based on results.
  • Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00.
