We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Programme and Planning Lead to join our Clients Asset – Commercial and PMO Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the development and adherence to an integrated investment plan, crucial for their operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong strategic planning skills, excellent communication abilities, and robust experience in project planning within a portfolio-programme-project environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop, maintain, and track the investment plan at the programme level.
  • Develop and maintain an outage plan that aligns with the investment plan, considering water treatment and supply availability.
  • Support Project Managers in developing project plans that align with the investment plan and assist in their upskilling in project planning.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting of performance-related milestones by supporting Project Managers.
  • Integrate internal resource requirements and Strategic Contract contractor schedules into project schedules with adequate risk provision.
  • Review and assure supply chain schedules for quality and maturity in line with good practice scheduling principles.
  • Provide periodic updates on schedules, analyse variances to baseline, and advise Project Managers on appropriate actions in line with contractual obligations.
  • Identify and maintain interdependencies within the plan to provide early insights into potential deviations and propose remedial actions to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Risk, Actions, Information, and Decisions (RAID) log across the integrated investment plan.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience in project planning within asset-intensive industries such as utilities, transportation, or construction.
  • Degree in construction management, engineering, or similar related project/programme management disciplines, or substantial experience in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Understanding of cost and risk management as they integrate into scheduling.
  • Experience in resource planning and leading professionals in a project planning environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for clear and concise information exchange.
  • Strong analytical skills for effective data management and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
