My client in Portsmouth are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the Marine industry to join our dynamic team in Portsmouth. The ideal candidate will oversee multiple system projects, ensuring the delivery of quality technical solutions and services. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving project success in the maritime sector.

The role Day-to-Day:

  • Lead and manage marine projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget while meeting industry standards.
  • Define project guidelines, allocate tasks, and oversee the documentation of project progress and financial records.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and Service Department to align project goals and timelines.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing timely updates, managing expectations, and addressing project-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and all company policies and practices.
  • Manage personnel resources, communicate effectively, and drive efficiency improvements across teams.
  • Oversee resource acquisition, vendor negotiations, and evaluate project profitability to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular updates on project performance and revenue generation in meetings to highlight successes and address challenges.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role within the Marine industry.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook.
  • Strong familiarity with maritime rules, regulations, best practices, and industry performance standards, including working with Class.
  • Proven project management and supervision skills, with the ability to oversee multiple aspects of project delivery.
  • Strong commercial acumen, organisational skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Leadership abilities with a focus on fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required to attend vessel surveys and oversee site work.
