Client Details

Our client, a leading international retail business based in Portsmouth, is seeking a dedicated and customer focused Credit Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.

Description

Credit Controller:

  • Assessing customer credit and either approving or halting transactions (with necessary approval from Directors).
  • Pursuing overdue payments to ensure timely settlement by customers, escalating if payments are delayed or missed.
  • Handling payments via phone.
  • Overseeing credit note requests and maintaining records alongside the General Manager.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations and preparing and submitting statutory and statistical reports.
  • Completing and submitting tasks for both internal and external audits.
  • Monitoring the finance email inbox and addressing any inquiries.
  • Performing various finance administrative duties such as invoicing, assisting with new account setups, and managing paperwork.
  • Addressing ad hoc operational and finance-related requests.

Profile

Credit Controller:

  • Proficient in Excel with a good working knowledge
  • Background of over 1 year in credit control and familiarity with reporting standards
  • Skilled in building strong relationships and possessing clear and confident communication abilities
  • Team player with a proactive "can-do" attitude, as the role involves close collaboration with various teams, managers, and Directors
  • Familiarity with utilising external credit agency information systems
