The Skills You'll Need: Fluent in Mandarin and English, Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to the Managing Director via matrix.
  • Functionally reports to the European CFO.
  • Direct Reports: 4 finance team members

Mandarin speaking Head of Finance - What You'll be Doing Each Day:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies to meet company's 20% annual growth target.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to the Managing Director and European CFO to support key decision-making and organisational transformation.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Led financial modelling efforts to support product launches, market expansion, and dealer network development.
  • Manage the annual inventory stock-taking process, ensuring accuracy and efficient control to minimise losses.
  • Develop strategies to improve inventory turnover and optimise working capital.
  • Lead efforts to manage and mitigate foreign exchange (FX) exposure in alignment with the company’s global operations.
  • Collaborate with HQ to design and implement hedging or other mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
  • Oversee credit control and accounts receivable processes to reduce outstanding receivables and ensure dealer credit management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with UK and international accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for local and regional stakeholders.
  • Oversee tax planning, compliance, and reporting to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Champion professional development within the finance team and ensure they have the tools and support to succeed.
  • Support organisational restructuring efforts, ensuring the financial and operational processes align with company’s evolving business model.
  • Oversee new product launches, providing cost analysis, pricing strategies, and investment planning.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.

Mandarin speaking Head of Finance - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Professional fluency in Mandarin both written and verbal is a requirement.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Experience in construction equipment, heavy machinery, or related industries is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in managing working capital, FX exposure, and inventory processes.
  • Experience in leading financial strategy and transformation, particularly in businesses transitioning their sales models.
  • Strong knowledge of UK & international accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Experience of leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Exposure to working in an international, multi-cultural environment with experience in Chinese business culture preferred.
